Belgium BANS Mobile Phones For Children

On the same day that we read reports from the Lancet that the UK is “lagging behind similar countries on many indicators for ill-health” (and continues to lag in the diagnosis and survival of cancer), the Belgian government has announced measures to restrict the use of mobile phones by young children.
Public Health Minister Laurette Onkelinx has announced that sales of mobile phones to children under 7 years will be banned in shops and also on the internet.
Adverts for mobile phones during children’s programmes on TV radio and the internet will also be banned.
Research shows that in Belgium every two out of three children under 10 years have a mobile phone. At 12 years they nearly all have one.
The minister has highlighted the radiation risk from cell phones which is higher for young children than adults.

there is no excuse 4 this violation of youth rights.support the national youth rights association.im a very active member of it(in the usa)mobile phones r a neccessary form of communication 4 all and this law must b struck down.this encourages child abuse and theres no justification 4 it period cell phones do not give out harmful radiation regardles of your age period.this is just anti-technology bs and he does not have the right 2 do that.and it restricts the free speech of advertisers.its a slippery slope.they give off less radiation then a hair dryer.thios is ageist pro abusive parents bs.that being said its not banning them wich he has no right 2 do.its restricting the ease of people under 7 buying them and seeing many ads 4 them on shows geared 2 them ,but he has no right 2 do that either.there was an anti tehcnology anti youth halocaust that went on 4 several decades and no behavior like that can be allowed 2 b repeated.

You come from another culture, we know that in the USA any child has the right and can take a gun and shoot the family and other schoolchildren. And almost all of your food is genmanipulated and filled with artificial additives, and normal weight in USA is what we call overweight a.s.o. We don’t regard rights here in the same way. We are a lot of Europeans fighting for the right to be healthy in as many ways as possible. I love this initiative, and I hope and fight for it to spread to my country and to higher ages of children. We are also a lot of people who can feel how bad the radiation is to us.

You are uninformed. The comment about comparable radiation from hairdryers is utterly misguided; you clearly no nothing about electromagnetic frequencies or radiation. I hope you look into this some more.
Would you let your children play around with asbestos, lead or syringes in order to provide support for their ‘rights’ to do so? Children require informed support from grown adults. I hope you know some.
I have a different point of veiw here — why on earth does a child — yes a CHILD under 7 need a cellphone, they do not go anywhere alone, not to school or the park, they do not walk to the shops. They are dropped off a sports events — so why do they need one ?
Todd, ignorant dear person… child abuse is defined in part by a failure to protect children, not the act of protecting them. Yes, they do give out radiation. But in fact it is a small part of the picture because children are now completely surrounded by radiation all day long through wireless internet.

I recommend everyone to see the documentary “Resonance - Beings of Frequency”, which can be view in full on YouTube. It gives a very good insight into what our manmade radiation does to not only our children, but all living things.
Anyway. I don’t know any children under the age of 7 that have cell phones here, and I don’t know any (families) that have a reason for a cell phone at that age being that they are 99% of the time under the care of a guardian.
I also love how the USA is the best, most obnoxious scape-goat out of all developed countries. It helps other countries feel so much better about their own (deadly, rising, problematic) rates of obesity and violence, etc. It’s such a relief for people to say, “OH, look at how bad THEY are! USA assholes!” ‘Glad we can help you feel better about your own inadequacies for peace, health, human welfare, etc. We’re a struggling planet, folks.
I think u should read WHO reports properly , i just have , it says that although they have concerns - there is no definative proof that there are dangers ,
